For Woodies on the Wharf 2023 the Santa Cruz Woodies Club is donating our on-wharf raffle proceeds to just two charities: The Monterey Bay Salmon and Trout Project (www.mbstp.org) which is graciously providing volunteers for our Bike Corral/Valet and the Community Foundation for Monterey County – Pajaro Relief Fund (www.cfmco.org).
For those of you who live near the California Coast you know of the devastation that the recent storms have wreaked on so many communities.
In early March the Pajaro River levee failed due to generational heavy rainstorms and flooded the town of Pajaro in Monterey County. Over 2000 residents, largely low-income families, were forced to evacuate due to the widespread destruction. The Pajaro Relief Fund is providing emergency assistance and relief to this community for needs including food, emergency shelter, financial assistance to those who were evacuated, support for first responders as well as the ongoing recovery and rebuilding efforts. Additional information and ways to donate can be found at: www.cfmco.org.
