Santa Cruz Woodies Virtual Spring Cruise

The Spring cruise has been held yearly on National Drive Your Woodie Day. Unfortunately, we had to cancel this years annual Santa Cruz Woodies Club (SCWC) Spring Cruise due to the Covid-19 Pandemic. There are many SCWC members spread out among Northern California and Bay Area Counties, each with various SIP requirements. It was thought best to suggest to our SCWC Ohana to celebrate the day by driving individually or in small groups as they felt comfortable with while staying in compliance with their local County orders. It has been so great to see the photos posted to our Google Group and in other social media of those who got out and drove their Woodies! Among our SCWC Ohana, there are numerous current and retired “First Responder” law enforcement, firefighters health care workers, and teachers who have borne the brunt of this pandemic first hand and therefore recognize the daily dangers, and challenges that confront today’s hero’s. Seeing them and others of our Ohana out with smiles on their faces and by doing so putting smiles on the faces of others sure felt good!

A few of the club members got together here is Santa Cruz to enjoy each other’s company and the beautiful Santa Cruz weather.

We all wore our masks, and adhered to “Social Distancing” requirements. Everybody had a great time while supporting our local business establishments. A big shout out to Surf City Sandwich for one great lunch. Those paying tribute to our local First Responders and enjoying their lunch were, Rowland and Dorma Baker, Don Iglesias and Cathy Stefanki, Carl Biggs and Margaret Phillips Biggs, Dave and Linda Patterson and Arlene and I.
