Planning a cruise in our old wooden cars in December, even in Santa Cruz, is always kind of a gamble. The wood doesn’t like to get wet, windows often leak, and some of us don’t have working wipers. So when we got up the morning of the parade and looked outside, we found nothing but bright, bright sunshine and we were stoked!
Fourteen woodies, and of course their owners, gathered along Pacific Avenue early on the morning of December 3rd to decorate the cars in preparation for a fine parade. Woodies sporting bows and tinsel, lights and garland, reindeer, snowmen, and even a blow-up Santa set off down the avenue to the delight of the huge crowd lining the street. All in all another great parade! The best part was when we all went to the Hilton’s for their now traditional Holly Jolly Holiday Open House! What a wonderful way to bring in the holidays; a fun parade and enjoying time together with our woodie ohana! Thanks to all who came out to join us for the parade and thank you to Alan & Jule for hosting us for another wonderful afternoon!
