This museum is located in the lighthouse at Lighthouse Point. It memorializes the history of surfing in Santa Cruz, which is recognized as the birthplace of surfing on the mainland. The Alisa Ann Ruch Burn Foundation (AARBF) is a California-based nonprofit organization dedicated to preventing burns and fires and providing services to those who have been affected by a burn injury. Ride a Wave’s mission is to give children with special needs the chance to feel the thrill of riding a wave and experience a safe, fun-filled day at the beach, whether they are physically, developmentally or economically challenged.
